FAA A&P Tests Introduction

FAA A&P License Exams consist of 3 subjects of written tests, Oral and Practical tests.

3 subjects of written tests are respectively

General (Electricity, Corrosion, Ground Operation, Manuals, Human factors and etc.)

Airframe (Structure, Aircraft Systems, Flight control, Hydraulic, Landing gear and etc.)

Powerplant(Engine Theory, Engine systems, lubrication, ignition, indication and etc.）

Each subject will take 2 hours. General tests 60 questions, Airframe and Powerplant tests 100 questions respectively. All questions are 1/3 choices and single correct answer only. Getting 70% or above scores will pass the test.

After passing all of 3 written tests, Oral and Practical tests will be performed by DME(designated mechanic examiner) in-person. Generally, oral will be done first, then practice. The total length may vary from 6-8 hours. After passing, DME will issue temporary license to you at once. Attention: Temporary license can be used to release “N” registered airplanes. You just need to wait for permanent license (green plastic card) to be mailed to your physical address about one month later. You DO NOT need to do license application processing work after passing the exams. Everything has been completed the moment when you pass Oral and Practical tests.

Before starting 3 written tests, You need to meet FAA inspector for interview. The purpose of interview is for the inspector to evaluate your practical experience, English ability and supporting documents. Then sign off your 8610-2 application form. With the signed off form, you can start the following written test. We prepared and sent all of your supporting documents to FAA and scheduled a nice and friendly inspector for you, which is very very important for you to pass the interview.

4. You will download our APP, in which you can use very useful study resources. For example, you can do simulated written tests, listen to voice of oral questions and answers, watch teaching videos of FAA inspector interview, US visa interview and practical tests.

5. We help applicants to pass US visa application, ask DME to issue invitation letter for you, which is most critical for VISA application and also useful when you border into the USA.

We have the following 7 tests locations:  LAX, SFO, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma City, Atlanta.  Applicant can select which location he/she wants to go best, otherwise we will schedule the test according to the DME and local FAA schedules for our applicants.
